| Our New Direction |
MCMS President Dr. AJ Jain is present as Georgia Governor Sonny Purdue signs the CON Bill into law.
The Muscogee County Medical Society is taking a new direction.
Being a physician in the year 2009 is far different than it was twenty or even ten years ago. Although the arguments are plenty in which direction
each aspect of being a physician has changed, one thing is for sure. Technology has fueled incredible discovery, innovation, and practice. And the Muscogee County Medical Society
is ready to move forward in the direction that technology will take us. M.C.M.S. is overhauling it's entire web presence in order to provide our membership a true resource in the form of both public and private (protected) information.
And we want you to be on board.
Our focus will be placed upon our membership. Both our existing members, as well as our prospective members - and more importantly, any reason they might have for not currently being a member.
Our immediate goals for 2009 include but are not limited to:
- Offering CME through MCMS
- Engage the alliance
- Reach out to nonmembers to recruit
- Increase visibility in the community
- Comment on treatments discussed in the ledger
- Create a central location for members to list job opportunities
- Work with area colleges/universities to offer pre-med student rotations and exposure to real world medicine
- Develop a purchasing group
- Develop a comprehensive list of area physicians
- Conduct surveys of member offices of practical data (eg. Nurse salaries)
- Develop committees to increase involvement and decrease drop-out
- Have reports of all committees during a business portion of the monthly meeting
- Develop the website to include tasking
- Work with MAG to scrutinize hospital privilege contracts
- Offer legislative comment
- Offer assistance to physicians relocating to this area
Our most important goal for 2009 is to serve our membership at the highest level and make the Muscogee County Medical Society a place where physicians are rewarded with true benefits of membership.
Our door is open and we welcome any suggestions by our membership.
Thank you,
Dr. A.J. Jain
