Piedmont Columbus Regional’s 2018 Year in Review
Happy holidays to you! During this time of year, we always like to reflect on everything that has happened as we come to the mid-year point of our fiscal year and the end of the calendar year.

Our organization has worked diligently to adapt in recent years and continue to remain on the forefront of the ever-changing healthcare industry. Our employees have been a critical piece in our success through all of our changes. Their efforts and dedication have been inspirational, and we are more confident than ever in the direction that our organization is headed. 2018 was a transformational year for everyone and I would like to take a moment to reflect on several of our successes as an organization.

In March, we partnered with Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta and held celebrations at all our facilities as Piedmont welcomed us into their family. This is just the beginning of a great partnership between two organizations that share a highlyaligned culture and values.

In April, a new state-of-the-art Emergency Department opened at our Northside Campus. This new addition better serves the residents of North Columbus and Harris County as we strive to provide the best healthcare to our community. Our team at Northside, led by Dr. Darius Brown and Heather Yepez, is doing a great job and our patient visits per day are right on track to what we projected.

In July, we held a ribbon cutting for the newly renovated and expanded Miracle NICU, which cost $7.2 million. The new unit is now home to 46 NICU beds and a family-friendly layout for privacy. The new, state-of-the-art layout is also good for our staff by increasing patient access and providing better visibility to the patient. In November, we held a ribbon cutting for the expansion project at the John B. Amos Cancer Center. The expansion houses the new chemotherapy infusion center, medical and surgical oncology clinics, pharmacy, the "Courage Café" and administrative offices. Work now begins to renovate the existing building, which will culminate with the relocation of the Breast Care Center into the main level of
the original building. All renovations will be completed by the middle of 2019 and our philanthropic campaign is underway.

Columbus Regional Medical Group also grew significantly in 2018 - adding new physicians and specialties like Endocrinology and ENT and expanding into Phenix City. CRMG now has over 85 providers with over 30 offices conveniently located across the Chattahoochee Valley.

It was a solid year financially for our entire organization - our income from operations exceeded the budget for the third year in a row!
