Epic Go-live Dates and Training Classes
Piedmont Columbus Regional is preparing for the go-live of Epic, the world-class integrated care system and electronic medical record software, with training classes and informational sessions.

The next couple of months will be very exciting for Piedmont Columbus Regional. Our employees and physician partners will start to see some changes based on all of the work various teams have been working on. Communication is a key component of success for managing change.

The Epic ambulatory go-live for Piedmont Physicians practices start on April 1 and will continue in May 1. The Epic class schedule for hospital training will be released in mid-April. Training will run from April 29-June28. Employees will be given access to training materials and access to the Epic “Playground,” a simulated environment within Epic, so they can see how the system works before enrolling in a training class. The inpatient go-live for the Midtown and Northside campuses and hospital outpatient department will be July 1.

Epic medical records system, is used in all Piedmont facilities including physician practices. Patients will have one Piedmont medical chart so no matter where they are seen at Piedmont– as well as at more than 250 health care organizations nationwide – the medical care team has real-time access to the patient’s complete medical information. This includes test results, charts, reports and other important patient information.

Mobile Unit Deployed to East Alabama to Offer Aid for Storm Victims
The Piedmont Columbus Regional Mobile Unit was deployed to East Alabama to help those affected by the tornado outbreak on March 3.

We partnered with the Beauregard Clinic and other on-site medical service teams to provide first aid and blood pressure checks.

We’d like to thank our registered nurses, staff members, and Auburn University residents who have volunteered to provide healthcare services to those in need.
